Business Overview
Since the start of food-related operations in 1917, NOF's Functional Foods Business has been a pioneer
in the industry by pushing forward the innovative development of technologies used in the refining
and processing of edible oil and fats. Today, after steadily building a wider presence in the industry,
the Functional Foods Business is active in two main areas: the edible oils business and the health-related business.
In the edible oil business, NOF widely supports the food industry by supplying products such as margarine,
shortening, confectionary oils, depanning oils, fillings and toppings, oil and fat powders,
and ingredients for processed foods. The business also works to develop products that take taste to a new level
by leveraging technologies fostered during its time as a pioneer in oils and fats processing.
In the health-related business, NOF drives forward research into technologies that help to improve the health of society.
Efforts focus on areas such as functional lipids, nano-emulsion products, micro-encapsulated products
and enteral nutritional products, resulting in a stream of new products.
NOF's Functional Foods Business will continue to contribute to society by supplying products
that help to create a rich choice of tasty and healthy foods.
